What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is an acient therapy used to encourage the body's own healing power. Reflexology promtoes the body's great ability to adjust and balance during times of great stress. Just by taking time out to relax, you can help to let go of tension and get a feeling of restored balance in body, mind and spirit. Beyond relaxation, reflexology has been shown to improve circulation, which boosts the suppy of oxygen and nutrients to your muscles and tissue and speeds up elimination of waste.

Reflexology can help you

  • Restore your sense of wellbeing
  • Boost your immune system
  • Enhance your circulation
  • Promote relaxation and improve your sleep

Since reflexology treats the whole person, not just the symptoms of the disease, most people benefit from treatment.

I offer a range of holistic treatments, teating the mind, body and soul to help you cope with the daily stresses in life. I focus on issues such as the management of stress, pregnancy and fertility to name a few.

How does it Work?

Reflexology is based on the principal that there are reflexes in the feet that correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body.

What happens at a treatment?

When you go for a treatment, there will be a preliminary talk with me. Then you will remove your shoes and relax while I begin to work on your feet, noting the problem areas. For the most part the treatment is very pleasant and soothing. There may be discomfort in some places but this is fleeting and is indicative of tension or imbalance in a corresponding part of the body. The benefits of reflexology can be enjoyed by anyone.

Who is reflexology for?

Reflexology is a safe, natural therapy for all. It can be used to treat infants, teenagers, pregnant women and the elderly. You do not have to be ill to have Reflexology.

How often should I have a treatment?

Regular reflexology treatments are a good way to keep your health in check. Even if you are not sick, a regular monthly reflexology treatment will boost your immune system and act as an ideal prevention of ill health. Regular treatments will maintain properly balanced systems and can prevent the occurrence of disease.

If you are ill and on medication, reflexology can be used as a complementary therapy along with medical treatment. Full details of your condition will be taken at your first consultation and you will be required to check with you doctor that reflexology will not interfere with your medication. Many doctors and consultants recognise the benefits of this stress relieving and calming therapy.
